Nursery – Learning Project: “My Favourite Soup”
In the first and second days of the Learning Project: “My Favourite Soup,” Nursery students began their exciting journey by exploring a variety of vegetables. The classroom was filled with vibrant colors as the children observed carrots, tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, corn, cauliflower and beans. Students explored the colors, textures, and shapes of each vegetable as well as feeling the smooth skin of tomatoes, the rough surface of broccoli, and comparing the crunchy and soft textures. Through stories and discussions, they learned about the parts of vegetables we can eat, such as roots, stems, leaves, and seeds. Besides, students learned that vegetables have vitamins and nutrients that help them grow healthy and strong. The students also discovered that vegetables contain important vitamins and nutrients that help them grow strong and healthy, such as carrots help eyesight, spinach gives strength, and tomatoes keep them healthy. They also discussed why eating vegetables is important.
This activity helps the students to develop curiosity, language skills, and awareness of healthy eating. By exploring vegetables through seeing, touching, and talking, they improve their observation and vocabulary. The hands-on experience also helps them think critically as they notice differences and similarities between vegetables. Learning about healthy food from an early age builds a positive attitude toward nutrition and helps them make better food choices. The knowledge they gain from this exploration will also help them plan the next step in choosing ingredients and making their own favourite soup. ***
