Nursery – Exit Point: Veggies Feast!
As the culmination of their theme, Nursery students expressed the knowledge and skills they gained throughout the unit by preparing their own healthy meals from scratch. This hands-on activity allowed them to engage in every step of the process, from harvesting to enjoying the final dish.
Step by step, the students eagerly participated in each stage. First, they harvested fresh vegetables that would be used in their meal. Then, they carefully washed the vegetables, learning the importance of cleanliness. With guidance from their teachers, they practiced cutting the vegetables safely, developing their fine motor skills and independence.
To complete the activity, the students enjoyed a small feast of vegetable soup they had helped prepare. This delicious and nutritious dish was a rewarding experience, as they were able to taste the results of their own hard work.
This activity not only enhanced students’ fine motor skills in washing and cutting but also taught them valuable lessons in independence, teamwork, and an appreciation for healthy food. The students were fully engaged and enjoyed each step, making this theme culmination a fun and meaningful learning experience. ***
