Nursery – Exit Point: The World Around Us
Nursery students celebrated their learning on the World Around Us theme by exploring the environment around the school. They went for a walk to Aspol Manahan and along the way, students were encouraged to recognize and observe natural objects they had learned about during the theme, such as trees, grass, litter and so on. They also explored the textures and colors of these objects. When they found litter, they learned to put it into the litter bin as demonstrated by their teachers.
This exploration not only gave students a chance to review the vocabulary they had learned but also provided them with real-life experiences to feel and understand the world around them. During the observation, students also recognized other living things, such as minibeasts, and noticed people living in the surrounding area.
We hope that this real-life experience helps students to build awareness of caring for the environment, such as by not littering. Moreover, it is expected that students can take simple actions at home to care for their immediate surroundings. In the future, we hope our students develop a positive mindset to keep the environment clean and healthy. ***
