Nursery – Exit Point Activity: “Exploring Wayang”

Nursery students took part in a fun EXIT POINT activity with the theme Learning Through Stories. In this session, they learned about Indonesian culture by getting to know wayang, especially the Punokawan characters, together with Mbah Yanto. Students listened to an interesting story about the Punokawan and were excited to learn about each character.

After the storytelling, the students had a chance to see and explore a traditional musical instrument called the gamelan, which is usually played during wayang performances. They were curious and happy to learn how music is part of the story. The fun continued with a creative activity. Each student chose their favorite Punokawan character and painted it carefully. They enjoyed coloring and adding their own touch to the character they liked the most.

This activity gave many benefits to the students. They improved their listening skills, imagination, and vocabulary through storytelling. By coloring and painting, they developed their fine motor skills and creativity. Most importantly, they began to know and appreciate Indonesian culture in a fun and simple way, helping them feel more connected to their cultural heritage.
