Nursery – Entry Point: Were going on the Bear Hunt
The beginning of Term 2 for our Nursery students was filled with excitement that could be seen from the very first moment. To start the new term, they participated in an engaging Entry Point activity inspired by the story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.
After listening attentively to the story, the students were invited to experience it for themselves. They explored grassy areas, muddy ground, and even wet riverbeds—just like the characters in the story. Their joy grew when they discovered a “bear” playfully hiding among the leaves.
By walking barefoot, they could truly feel the textures of grass, mud, and fresh water. Through this sensory play, they explored different sensations—smooth, rough, soft, and bumpy—helping them better understand the world around them. Activities like these also support the development of grip strength, hand–eye coordination, and provide a soothing sensory experience.
The play-pretend adventure encouraged imagination, role exploration, and built self-confidence in a fun and pressure-free environment. It was a memorable way to begin the new term, setting the tone for joyful and meaningful learning ahead. ***
