Nursery – English: Simple Reading Introduction
Today, our little learners explored the theme of everyday heroes: teacher, doctor, police officer, firefighter, and nurse. We began by singing “Police Officer” to activate their prior knowledge, then identified places like the hospital, school, police station, and fire station. Through matching pictures with sight words and repeating vocabulary together, children strengthened their understanding in a playful and meaningful way.
Step by step, they were introduced to simple sentences such as, “I see a doctor.” and “This is a nurse.” By reading together and taking turns, they built confidence in early reading skills. At this stage, learning is not about perfection, it is about exposure, repetition, and growing understanding through joyful experiences.
