Nursery – English: Recognising letters

Our Nursery students are joyfully exploring the letters a to e through playful activities such as hopping onto the right letters, matching pairs, and connecting letters to objects. These tasks help them recognise and recall letters, follow instructions, and start linking letters with familiar things—all while having fun.

The activities also invite children to apply and analyse what they know. By moving, matching, and deciding which letter belongs to which object, they practice reasoning, comparison, and problem-solving. At the same time, their gross motor and visual-spatial skills grow stronger, and they learn to stay focused and persistent in completing challenges.

Over time, these experiences build more than early literacy. Children develop confidence, resilience, and a love for learning, realizing that challenges can be met with curiosity and joy. These foundations will support them far beyond letter recognition, shaping positive attitudes that last well into their future learning journeys. ***
