Nursery – English: Exploring seeds and letters
Nursery students participated in a fun and meaningful exploration activity. Prior to the lesson, they were asked to bring various types of seeds from home, and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm in doing so. During the activity, students explored the colours, sizes, and textures of the seeds they brought. They also learned about how seeds grow into plants. The students then practised planting some of the seeds and used others to create collages of the letters they have been learning.
This exploration activity promoted students’ curiosity and logical thinking, while also providing a joyful and meaningful way to learn letter recognition. It helped students connect their hands-on experiences with the learning material. In the long term, students are expected to develop stronger critical thinking skills, greater curiosity about their environment, and a growing sense of responsibility in caring for living things.
