Nursery – Arts: My Beautiful Balloon 2.0
Nursery students continue their exploration of the beautiful balloon. They explored the beautiful balloon that could take them on a journey, which was the hot air balloon. Through videos, Nursery students observed what real hot air balloons look like and how could they take people to travel or have an adventure. They also shared their imagination as if they could travel in a hot air balloon. Some said they wanted to go to other cities, some others said they wanted to go overseas with the hot air balloon. They also made a hot air balloon artwork, exposing their crayoning and finger-printing ability.
Having observation through videos provided students meaningful learning environment for students could see the image of a real hot air balloon that they might never see before. Students also learned to boost their confidence by sharing their opinion and imagination of their journey with the hot air balloon. Nonetheless, crayoning and fingerprinting became their creative expression for they were free to choose their favorite color for their hot air balloon.
These series of activities stimulated students’ personal goals that are valuable for their future lives. They learn to become a confident communicator as well as a great thinker who are able to give reason for any choice they make. ***
