MP3 – Break the Routines: Sport Day

Sport Day was a joyful and energetic event that brought together all P5 and P6 students for a day of movement, teamwork and friendly competition. The day began with a lively group exercise session led by several enthusiastic P6 students. Held in the Multifunction Court, the exercise involved all students and teachers, creating a fun excitement. Laughter and music filled the air as everyone stretched, danced and warmed up together.

Following the exercise, the students participated in a series of friendly matches, including soccer and basketball competitions. For each sport, P5 students competed against their P6 peers. Previously, students had the opportunity to form their own teams, resulting in three soccer teams and three basketball teams from each level. The teams were mixed with both boys and girls to encourage full participation. This approach helped to ensure that everyone had a chance to join in, regardless of skill level or gender and emphasized the spirit of friendly competition over winning. The matches were filled with energy, cheers and encouragement from fellow students and teachers who came to support their friends.

Sport Day had a meaningful impact on the students beyond physical activity. It fostered teamwork, resilience and mutual respect among peers. By forming their own teams and participating in friendly matches, students learned to collaborate, communicate and support one another regardless of the outcome. The shared experience of exercising and competing together helped strengthen relationships across grade levels and built a sense of belonging within the school community. ***
