Early Year Program: Book Reference Time (BRT) Phase 1

Our EY1 and EY2 students took part in their first Book Reference Time (BRT) of this academic year on Friday, October 17th, 2025, at Time Square EYP. The students were very excited to meet the Reading Coach and share the books they have been exploring during the reading program. It was a joyful and meaningful moment for our young learners as they proudly talked about their favorite stories and characters.

Throughout the session, each student had the chance to show their understanding of the story in their own simple way by telling what happened in the book, describing pictures, or recalling their favorite parts. The Reading Coach warmly listened, asked questions, and encouraged the students to express their ideas confidently.

This activity also helped the students make simple connections between the stories and their daily experiences. They related story themes like friendship, kindness, or helping others to what they do at home or in class. Through this interaction, they not only learned to express thoughts but also practiced listening and turn-taking during conversations.

Book Reference Time Phase 1 marked an important milestone after a series of reading stimulation and reading celebration activities. It reflected the students’ growing curiosity, comprehension, and confidence in sharing ideas. Congratulations, EY1 and EY2 students! We are proud of your joyful spirit and love for reading. Keep exploring the world through books! ***
