Early Year 2 – Science: Virtual Journey
The EY2 children began their Science session by closely observing a globe and learning how different countries are positioned on the Earth. This hands-on exploration helped them see that the world is made up of many places, each with its own location and distance. Using Google Earth, they continued their investigation by taking a virtual journey across Solo, searching for familiar landmarks and even locating their own homes.
With growing curiosity, they moved beyond Indonesia and explored several countries around the world. One place that captured their attention was the Netherlands, with its tulip fields, windmills, and canals. This scientific exploration of maps, space, and geographical features later became the inspiration for their artwork in the following lesson. ***
