Early Year 2 – OLP: The Ocean Adventure at the Solo Bakery & Beverage Expo 2025

Today, EY2 students had the exciting opportunity to learn outside the classroom at the Solo Bakery & Beverage Expo 2025, held at Solo Paragon Mall. This event was a wonderful collaboration between the school and external partners, providing the students with an opportunity to explore new learning resources and experiences. The event began with a brief review of their “Ocean Treasures” theme, where they reflected on how the ocean can provide food, like seaweed, which can be turned into agar-agar or jelly.

The students watched a cooking demonstration by a chef, who showed them how the jelly is prepared and decorated with ocean-inspired designs. They also participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including moving classes where they crafted fish-shaped origami, made ocean-themed keychains, and decorated the jelly with their own imagination.

Throughout the day, the children had the chance to get creative with provided materials, all while learning about the ocean and its resources. The event not only offered exposure to other teaching resources but also encouraged adaptability and respect as the students navigated new environments and interacted with people outside of school. The event allowed the students to practice good behavior in public spaces, as they interacted with the environment and the people around them. Their enthusiasm was evident as they engaged in these fun and educational activities, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable.
