Early Year 2 – Math: Measurement
EY2 students were introduced to measurement using non-standard units namely ice cream sticks, paper clips, and binders. They learned to measure the length of the table, chair, and other objects found in the classroom.
As it was the first time for them, the students looked enthusiastic about doing the activity and showed curiosity to measure more items around them. Learning activities that encouraged children’s curiosity like this got high attention from children so that their engagement built naturally during the learning process. ***
