Early Year 2 – Exit Point: Sensory Nature Walk
Outdoor learning activities provide valuable experiences for children, and recently, EY2 students took part in a Sensory Nature Walk as a culminating event for the Healthy Habits theme, marking the end of the first term. During this enriching activity, students explored nature by observing tall trees, diverse plants, and various animals in the area. They also exercised at Manahan Stadium, a popular venue for the Solo community.
As part of their exploration, the children collected natural materials such as twigs, dry leaves, and flowers to bring back to school for crafting. This hands-on experience allowed EY2 students to apply what they had learned throughout the term, practicing road safety and appropriate behavior in public spaces while enjoying the benefits of outdoor exercise.
Through such activities, students not only enhance their understanding of healthy habits but also develop a deeper appreciation for their natural surroundings. ***
