Early Year 2 – Arts: Recycled Paper Thank You Cards

Over the past two weeks, EY2 students have been learning about recycling in fun and meaningful ways. After exploring how used paper can be turned into something new, they worked together in groups to make their own recycled paper at school. Later, for their home link learning, children repeated the process at home with their parents, proudly applying what they had learned in class.

When their recycled paper was ready, the children brought it back to school. They decorated it with colourful paint patterns and wrote “I love you, Mom and Dad” to create a heartfelt thank-you card for their parents. This simple yet thoughtful activity helped children see that waste materials can be transformed into something beautiful and useful.

Through this project, students not only learned about the importance of recycling and caring for the environment but also practised creativity, fine motor skills, and gratitude. Most importantly, they discovered the joy of making something meaningful with their own hands. ***
