Early Year 2 – Arts: Making Seaweed Forest

EY2 students learned about the environment under the sea. This was an opportunity for the students to explore and create their seagrass forests. They had previously observed the seagrass forest by watching videos to find out what the forest looked like. The students made this art by drawing the marine environment and the sea creatures in it. Pupils used their imagination to shape and color the pictures. Then the EY2 students coloured the sea background using sponge painting.

Finally, they made the sea grass forest by folding the paper and sticking it in the right place. The children were able to develop their fine motor skills through this activity by drawing simple shapes, sponge painting, and folding paper. ***
