Early Year 1: Water Games to start New Theme “Let’s Play Outside”
EY1 students took part in the entry point of their new theme, “Let’s Play Outside,” where they were introduced to the joy of outdoor play and encouraged to connect with the natural environment around them. On their very first days of school, the children enjoyed a water play activity designed to nurture perseverance, teamwork, and simple problem-solving skills.
The challenges were carefully planned in stages, starting from easy tasks and gradually becoming more challenging. The students were given the freedom to explore and discover their own ways to transfer water using a variety of materials such as sponges, cups, and even pieces of bamboo. They were fully engaged and delighted throughout the activity. Some children ended up soaked or covered in mud, yet this did not bother them at all.
This joyful experience helped the children discover that playing outdoors is not only fun, but also meaningful. It inspired them to see learning as an exciting adventure that can happen anywhere, especially in the world beyond the classroom.
