Early Year 1 – Sports: Balance, jump, run!
EY1 students had a physical exercise focused on developing balance, coordination, and movement skills. They practiced balancing their bodies using a balance board, which required concentration and control. Students also jumped into hoops and ran in a zigzag pattern.
The activities were connected through imaginative play, where students pretended they were in a garden environment. As they moved through the course, they imagined stepping into mud, jumping over puddles, and navigating uneven paths.
The students were actively engaged in the activities and showed enjoyment and enthusiasm throughout the session. The exercise improved their balance, coordination, and overall body control while building confidence in their physical abilities. By combining movement with imagination, the experience strengthened their connection between physical activity and learning, making it both meaningful and enjoyable.
