Early Year 1 – Reading Program Celebration: Sharing the Joy of Reading

To celebrate their reading journey, EY1 students joined a special storytelling activity. Each class choose one of their favorite storybooks that they had read with their parents at home. They practiced the story together in class and prepared to share it in a fun performance.

On the performance day, EY1 students confidently stood in front of Nursery classes to tell their stories. They acted as the characters, used expressions and actions, and invited the Nursery students to sing and join in the story. The room was filled with laughter, excitement, and imagination.

This activity gave EY1 students chance to practice what they had learned from their reading time. They built confidence in speaking, learned to work together, and had fun performing for others. It was a wonderful way for them to showcase how much they have grown as readers and storytellers.

Nursery students also enjoyed the show and were inspired by their older friends. Watching EY1 students perform helped them become more curious and interested in books. The activity encouraged everyone to love reading and to keep discovering the joy of stories. ***
