Early Year 1 – Outdoor Learning Program – Plant Exploration Journey: From Classroom to Nature
EY1 students had a joyful and meaningful outdoor learning experience during their visit to Taman Winasis. They took part in guided exploration and observation, where they discovered different types of plants and observed how they grow at various stages. This helped them make simple connections between what they have learned in class and what they see in real life.
Students also enjoyed hands-on gardening activities. They learned how to plant vegetable seedlings vegetables and experienced harvesting in a fun way. This activity encouraged them to be caring and responsible, as they took part in the planting process and were excited to bring their plants home.
During the exploration, students were encouraged to ask and answer questions, share what they noticed, and express their thoughts. This supported the development of their communication skills while building their confidence in speaking.
Overall, by doing this activity, students gained a better understanding of how plants grow, developed their communication and social skills, and grew in curiosity and confidence through meaningful and enjoyable real-life experiences.
