Early Year 1 – Maths: Shapes Hunt

EY1 students learned about what keys are used for, what they might unlock, and why they are sometimes needed. They were given a chance to explore how the key works through a treasure hunt. They were invited to find the treasure (shapes) in the secret room which matched with the key they carried. Students were enthusiastic about unlocking each of the doors around the setting and the green box that they found.

Moreover, students were asked to recognize each of the treasure shapes and sort them with their peers. This activity enhances the students to practice their motor skills through twisting and turning movements as well as shape recognition. ***
