Early Year 1 – Maths: Clean Them Up!
The EY1 students joined an interesting and challenging math lesson to learn number recognition along with the concept of each number. They started the lesson by learning how to clean up some muddy toys. They were set to work in group to clean up based on the step of cleaning like brushing, cleaning, rinsing, and drying the toys. After they finished cleaning the toys they were challenged to tidy the toys based on the number given by the teachers as they learnt about concept of number.
This activity helped the students their cooperation skill, such as they had to work with other student in different role. It also encouraged the students to build their practical life skill, allowing them to take care of the toys by cleaning and tidying the toys.
This activity can make the learning fun and meaningful since the students had to learn the knowledge through learning experience.
