Early Year 1 – Exit Point: This Is Me
EY1 students had a fun time meeting guest speakers as a part of their exit point of the “This Is Me” unit of learning. Students were given an opportunity to recall and extend their learning by meeting Ibu Ayhwien who is an interior designer and Bapak Inov who is an architect. Students actively took part in a discussion about how different rooms in a house serve a different purpose, and what common household objects are found in each room.
Students also got a chance to have a visual tour of rooms inside a home, what kinds of household objects and appliances are needed, and where to put them based on several considerations. Moreover, students were invited to create their own bedroom design by choosing the color as well as household objects and appliances based on their creativity.
Students could show their creative designs and some of them even got balloons made by Bapak Inov as the reward. This activity is aimed to stimulate students to be creative thinkers. ***
