Early Year 1 – Exit Point: Let’s be the Toy Makers
On September 24th, the EY1 level conducted an Exit Point activity of My Toy Shop theme entitled “Let’s be the Toy Makers”. During that activity, the students came to school with their parents to explore simple traditional toys and games the festival provided. Both parents and students had the opportunity to explore some traditional toys like gasping, kapal othok-othok, slepetan, and dakon. Moreover, the students and students needed to collaborate to play some traditional games as well like ular naga, engklek, and lompat tali. By doing this activity, students were invited to appreciate local heritage by playing the games or toys introduced as part of developing or enhancing global competence. At the end of the session, the students and parents were invited to collaborate to create simple toys using junk materials that they brought from home. Both parents and students are encouraged to use their creativity to craft the toy based on provided references. The presence of parents at school will be a valuable experience, offering a chance for both students and parents to strengthen their bond as they create and play with the toys together. ***
