Early Year 1 – Entry Point: Weather Wonder

In the entry point of the Weather Wonders unit, EY1 students began their exploration by observing the sky to notice different weather conditions. They looked carefully to see whether the sun was shining, if clouds were present, and how those clouds looked. This hands-on experience nurtured their natural sense of curiosity and encouraged them to think critically about what they saw.

As they learned weather-related sight words, children developed their cognitive skills by connecting words with real-world observations. Working together to create weather posters also strengthened their social development, as they practiced communicating, sharing ideas, and collaborating with peers. Through this meaningful experience, students were not only learning about weather but also growing as curious thinkers and cooperative learners. ***
