Early Year 1 – Entry Point: Little Animal Lovers, Big Hearts
Our Early Years 1 learners kicked off their new “Animal Explorers” unit with a heartwarming role-play adventure inside a custom-made classroom animal shelter!
Stepping into character, the young caregivers took on active roles as compassionate veterinarians examining rescued pets and loving families adopting new animal companions. Through creative discussions, EY1 identified which animals make great pets and mapped out essential care needs—including proper nutrition, safe shelter, and gentle handling. The discovery journey concluded with a creative art session where students illustrated their favorite pets with pride!
By blending imaginative role-play with hands-on art, EY1 nurtured early empathy, communication skills, curiosity, and an understanding of responsible animal care!
