Early Year 1 – Entry point: Adventures Through Space
EY1 launched their new theme focusing on “Adventures Through Space.” The session was designed to spark curiosity and excitement, introducing them to the wonders of space in an engaging way. Through interactive storytelling and artworks, students were encouraged to explore new ideas and expand their understanding of the world beyond Earth.
The introduction to space began with a puppet story about an astronaut who travelled into space aboard a rocket. During the journey, the astronaut encountered various elements of space, including the moon, stars, the sun, and even imaginative objects such as UFOs and friendly aliens.
After the story, the students created their own alien artworks. They used different colours to make unique aliens, expressing their ideas through art. This activity not only reinforced the theme but also supported the development of fine motor skills and creativity.
Overall, the activity was enjoyable and helped the students begin their learning about space. It encouraged their imagination and creativity while introducing the new theme in a simple way.
