Early Year 1 – English: Thematic Vocabulary
EY1 students were introduced to a job that can take someone to travel outer space called an astronaut. They learned about everything in outer space, as well as what the spacesuit is for. They were so excited to play pretend as the astronaut. They were asked to walk in slow motion as if they were floating in space.
Moreover, students were also given a mission to match the sight words of thematic vocabulary to their picture. This activity is aimed to promote students’ imagination as well as literacy skills. ***
