Early Year 1 – Creative Expression: The Aliens Save the Day performance
In Thursday, 30 April 2026, EY1 students successfully took part in a “Creative Expression” activity alongside their parents. This collaborative session invited parents to work with their children to build rockets, followed by a student performance on stage. The children confidently and joyfully presented “The Aliens Save the Day” through singing, rhymes, and dance. They took on roles as narrators and actors, carrying out their responsibilities well and demonstrating growing confidence on stage. Notably, the students showed a high level of ownership throughout the process—they selected their own songs for the dance and independently created their costumes and stage decorations.
Beyond enhancing students’ confidence, this experience highlighted the value of student agency in learning. By providing meaningful choices and opportunities for active participation, students were able to take ownership of their learning journey. As a result, the activity became not only engaging but also deeply meaningful, fostering both creativity and a strong sense of accomplishment. Importantly, parents were able to witness their children’s growth firsthand across multiple areas of development while actively supporting them in a joyful learning environment. We extend our sincere appreciation to all parents for their involvement and partnership.
