Early Year 1 – Arts: Making a Snake Craft
After learning about different types of snakes and their characteristics, EY1 students were invited to create their own snake crafts by following a series of steps designed to develop their fine motor skills. They practiced drawing, coloring, and cutting out the snake’s head, strengthening their hand control and precision.
To create the snake’s body, the students were also given an opportunity to work on their hand-eye coordination by stringing beads in a sequence. This beading activity required focus and patience, and the students showed great persistence as they worked.
This hands-on craft not only reinforced their knowledge about snakes but also supported key motor skill development in a fun, engaging way. ***
