Baby Class – Fine Motor: Paint the School Building
The Baby Class had an exciting art session as they explored painting outdoors using rollers and trays of paint. With great enthusiasm, the babies dipped their rollers into the paint and applied them to a large sheet of paper featuring the outline of a house. This hands-on activity encouraged them to experiment with shapes, strokes, and colours while enjoying the fresh air.
The activity supported various aspects of the children’s development. It helped improve fine motor skills as they gripped and rolled the brushes, enhanced hand-eye coordination, and stimulated their imagination. Painting on a large surface also encouraged body movement, supporting gross motor development and spatial awareness.
The impact of this experience extends beyond the painting session itself. It nurtures creativity, self-expression, and confidence in trying new things. Furthermore, it lays the foundation for early artistic skills and builds a positive relationship with learning—encouraging children to explore, experiment, and engage actively in future experiences. ***
