Toddler – English: The Snail Trail

During the activity of English lesson, toddler students were introduced to a simple story about snail entitled The Snail Trail. They listened to the story by using the storybook. Students also learnt about snail characteristic and how it moves.

As the continuant, students were taken to play pretend to make a simple snail trail. They were participated to match the minibeast pictures and make a simple line to connect each picture. This will help students to recognise the minibeast pictures while matching to the same ones. Students also practiced to make straight and diagonal lines as an initial stage in pre-writing activity. 

In sum, both activities were aimed to provide learning experience to enhance student’s ability in recognising minibeasts surrounding. Further, they could practice their pre-writing skill by making lines to the same pictures using different materials. In the future, students will have a good fine motor skill to hold and grip the small materials such as crayon, paint brush, and pencil.
