Toddler – English: Let’s Help the Crocodile!
Toddler students continued their exploration to learn about animals. In this session, they were introduced to a story “The Selfish Crocodile”. Through this story, they were taught how to share and help each other. Children also showed their enthusiasm to help the crocodile by pinching crocodile’s teeth during a pretend play activity. Students also were encouraged to recognise the colours of the pompom (red, blue, and yellow).
Next, students were exposed to savannah animals such as lion, cheetah, giraffe, and zebra. They wanted to recognise each picture by repeating after teacher and imitating the animal movement in turn. To deepen their understanding, toddlers were asked to match the animal pictures by pasting to the same ones.
These activities provide toddlers to develop their listening, communication, and fine motor skills. These also enhance their problem-solving skill and develop their critical thinking through simple discussion session. ***
