Toddler – English: Colour My Shell

Toddler students participated in a learning activity focused on recognising colours pictures and sight words. They were reviewed with the story of “The Tortoise and The Hare” to begin the session. Students also learned about tortoises around the world and their characteristic. 

During English lesson, students were asked to join the guessing game. Teacher showed 2 paper puppets and asked students to answer simple questions. Children show their confidence to mention the name of the characters. Next, they chose the colours and matched the correct sight words shown by teacher in turn. Further, they were encouraged to make simple artwork by decorate the tortoise’ shell using sponge. Toddlers might choose either red, blue, and yellow.

By performing this fun activity, learning becomes more enjoyable. Children can explore colours and techniques to create their own meaningful learning experience. They will also express their thought through making simple artwork based on the story character.
