Secondary: The Joy of Reading

Reading is one of the essential skills that FIS students must possess. As part of campaigning for the joy of reading, the Secondary level invited one of its alumni BRAj. Gayatri Kusumawardhani. Gayatri is currently the exchange program awardee in the US (Lake Region High School). Gayatri shared her concerns about reducing the literacy gap in Solo by initiating a public roadside library called the Nawala project (Omah Baca Nawala). She emphasized to Secondary students how reading is so essential. At the same time, she also gave a broader perspective to Secondary students as she shared the reading habit in the US. The online sharing with Gayatri was enjoyable and interactive. Several students actively asked questions to Gayatri. Overall, the Joy of Reading sharing is beneficial for the students. ***
