Secondary: Subject Presentation
Subject Presentation is an annual program conducted at the Secondary level. The subject presentation has been set as one of the school’s annual programs since it enables the students to practice their presentation skills. Presentation skills give a lot of benefits to students. It can develop self-confidence and improve the students’ literacy skills as they learn to sort information from different resources. Moreover, students learn to communicate thoughts and feelings effectively.
In the subject presentation, parents were invited to witness the students’ presentations as part of the students’ learning. Parent involvement is a powerful force in education since it can promote students’ success. The students did a presentation about a given subject in front of their parents and teachers. They were given 6 (six) minutes to do the presentation which was followed by a Question and Answer session for 9 (nine) minutes.
The topic of their subject presentation was taken from the learning project the students did at the end of the previous semester. Secondary 1 students had ‘Energy Efficiency’ as the topic, Secondary 2 had ‘Content Creator Project’, and Secondary 3 with ‘Promoting Healthy Food to Prevent Obesity in Teenagers’.
The students were given 2 (two) months to prepare for the subject presentation. Each student had an adviser (a teacher) to help them prepare for the subject presentation. The subject presentation was conducted in 2 (two) days: on Wednesday, 20 March 2024, and Thursday, 21 March 2024. ***
