Secondary: School Orientation Day 3
On the third day of school orientation, students continued working in cross-level groups. Just like the previous days, they sang FIS March during the morning briefing and Indonesia Raya National Anthem every 10 a.m. This practice is a way to reinforce the sense of belonging towards the school as well as nationalism for our beloved country.
Today’s main focus of the school orientation was learning and understanding the Secondary Rules, Routine and Manner at school. Senior students shared their experiences and knowledge to help the new students feel more prepared and confident in navigating school life. They discussed things like arrival and dismissal procedures, academic routines and even how to wear a tie independently.
As for creative follow up, students were asked to compose a song about school rules and perform a short drama based on possible real-life scenarios that may happen at school. These activities helped them demonstrate their understanding of the rules and how to respond to situations wisely. While learning, they were also encouraged to think critically and creatively to deliver messages in a fun and engaging way.
Responsibility and collaboration between levels became more visible. The activities ran more smoothly as students helped one another. New students adapted more quickly, while senior students showed care and began to develop their leadership skills naturally. ***
