Secondary: Reading Stimulation
Secondary students eagerly participated in Phase 1 of the Reading Program, with reading agents setting up a cozy and inviting reading corner to foster an engaging environment. To help track their progress, students were given reading logs, which were monitored weekly to ensure consistent improvement. Additionally, the students created a Quote Corner, where they posted motivational or inspiring quotes from the books they were reading, adding a creative and reflective element to the program.
In preparation for the Basic Reading Test (BRT), students were tasked with summarizing their reading and practicing how to present the content to their peers or group. This activity was designed to sharpen their comprehension skills, enhance their ability to organize key information and strengthen their verbal communication. By presenting their summaries, students not only reinforced their understanding of the material but also improved their confidence in sharing insights with others, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next stages of the program. ***
