Secondary Level – Boundless Mathematics-Charity 2025: Kick-Off
Our school proudly launched the Boundless Mathematics-Charity (BMC) 2025 movement today. This initiative brilliantly combines mathematics education with essential social outreach, challenging students to use their analytical skills (like data analysis and smart distribution) to design, manage and execute real-world charitable projects. The BMC aims to instil a deep sense of social responsibility while generating a logical, efficient and on point way of thinking.
The activity immediately started the BM Realistic Phase 1, focused on connecting students directly with the beneficiaries. Students were exposed to the realities and specific needs of three selected Panti Asuhan (care homes) through detailed files and videos. This crucial step ensures the students’ charitable work is grounded in genuine empathy and factual understanding, moving beyond abstract concepts to focus on specific, human needs.
Following the initial engagement, students began in-depth research into the Panti. Working individually or in teams, they utilised various resources to gather vital data and specific resource needs. This phase emphasises critical information literacy, providing the important dataset for their subsequent mathematical planning and project modelling.
The final activity involved collaborative validation. Students held structured discussions to share, confirm and validate the collected information with their peers. This ensures accuracy on the specific needs of each Panti before transitioning to the mathematical application phase. Today’s focus is an impactful start to the Boundless Mathematics-Charity 2025 movement. ***
