Secondary Level Book Reference Time
Phase 2 Secondary BRT has been successfully conducted. Students came with high motivation, bringing their books to be presented in front of the reading coaches. The reading coaches also showed a bright, cheerful face as if they could not wait for the students to sit in front of them.
Secondary BRT has left a deep and exciting impression on the students and reading coaches. Students brought their favourite book to be shared to the reading coaches. The books that students presented range from novel, fantasy story, history and many others. Another exciting thing was that they also wore their costumes representing the main character in their books.
From the BRT, students were not just sharing the content of their books, but they also took the values that are considered meaningful and beneficial for their daily life. Reading coaches also took advantage from these opportunities to build students’ awareness and critical thinking about what could be done better in their daily life. The room was buzzing with the discussions which also becoming a sign of a lively relationship among the Secondary members.
BRT is an important part of the whole Reading Program itself. However, BRT will not be meaningful and having a dynamic result without the preparation process done by students themselves in the daily reading time. Therefore, seeing the result from a comprehensive point of view gives school a very important data to nurture students’ development from the area of Reading Program. Big appreciation for everyone’s effort for this phase 2 BRT.
