Secondary 3 – Visual Arts: Visual Story Telling
Secondary 3 students still work on the process making of their story telling competition preparation. Beside creating a story, they also need to visualised the story with the properties since it is part of scoring criteria in the competition.
The ideation of the story was made into certain 3D properties. They made it from recycled materials, such as cardboard, bottles, papers, etc. They collaborated with their partners to design the properties based on their discussion and sketch. They were given freedom to choose the colouring media for those properties, like acrylic paint, coloured markers, spray paint, etc. Moreover, the students were setting the target of things they have to finished in each meetings. They also received feedback from their friends related to the progress of the properties through the feedback worksheet.
The making process of the properties stimulates the students to be discipline with the target set and encourage themselves to finish the task on time. They also learn to be open minded to feedback as part of their learning process. The whole activities aims to give students opportunity to sharpen their arts skill through story. ***
