Secondary 3 – Visual Arts: Caricature

Secondary 3 students had Visual Arts practical test under the theme ‘Caricature’. To prepare that, the students learnt on how to draw human caricature, like the caricature of themselves or their favourite idols. This time, they were asked to draw animals caricature by choosing the characters between tiger or monkey. The students could use the basic techniques that they have learnt about Caricature, such as added exaggeration on the face parts and giving huge head with tiny body as the most iconic characteristics of Caricature itself. Then, they were asked to bold and colour using coloured pencils. In addition, the students were given freedom to give name on the creation they draw. During the process, they were enthusiastically draw their creations with their own imagination and creativities. The practical test boost students’ way of thinking and expression in applying the techniques as well as sketching the Caricature.To conclude, for students, the practical test serves as a vital step in their learning journey. It’s not just about recalling facts, but actively using their knowledge to navigate challenges and develop practical skills. This direct experience helps students truly grasp concepts, prepares them for future tasks, and gives them the confidence to tackle real-world situations, showing that they are truly capable and prepared. ***
