Secondary 3 – Chemistry : Group Presentation and Experiment

Secondary 3 students conducted a group presentation and experiment about “Endothermic and Exothermic Reactions” in the laboratory. The activity was expected to reinforce their understanding of the topic they learned in the last two meetings. Students were divided into 6 groups. Each group had 8 minutes to present the topic, followed by a 7-minute experiment and 5 minutes for a Q-n-A session.
In the experiment, they were asked to make a chemical reaction between citric acid and sodium bicarbonate and discuss with the group members to identify the reaction as endothermic or exothermic. Most groups did the work excellently. Furthermore, they could also answer all the questions during the Q-n-A session smoothly because they already have an excellent understanding of the topic.
