Secondary 3 – Arts: Arts & Activism
Secondary 3 students deepen their understanding about a theme ‘Art & Activism’ through making artworks that they have chosen. Last time, they had made the draft related to the ideas that they planned and executed the plan into real creation. They chose some artworks such as making poster in paper, comic strip in paper, creating 3D artworks, mural drawing on Secondary black wall and painting in canvas. The creation also combined some materials and coloring media, like acrylic paint, chalk, cardboard, clay, colored pencils, markers, etc. The content of the creation was the issues happened in Indonesia along with campaign words, brief explanation and also pictures.
This learning activities were set to give broad opportunity for students to express their empathy about social, political, economy or educational issues happened nowadays and apply their learning experiences through varieties of artworks that meet their enthusiasm. They also sharpened their art skills with their own tools and materials chosen.
In addition, through those activities, students gain values, like expressing thoughts creatively, manage the design of the artworks properly and also articulating their concern about situation happened in their community.
