Secondary 2 – Leapro: Promoting Nusantara Applied Artworks

Secondary 2 Learning Project, which integrated the subjects of Bahasa Indonesia, Information Technology, and Visual Arts, conducted an outdoor learning activity in various locations, including Kampung Batik Kauman, Kemlayan, the Gatot Subroto Corridor (GatSu), and Pasar Triwindu. The primary objective of this activity was to explore and identify Karya Seni Terapan, encompassing crafts, architecture, and clothing found in those areas.

At the outset of the excursion, students which has been divided into several groups, navigated the streets surrounding Kampung Batik Kauman. They engaged in various activities, such as conducting interviews with local vendors and customers, as well as capturing photos as the data representing Karya Seni Terapan within the local environment.

The journey progressed to the Kemlayan area and along Jalan Gatot Subroto, where numerous artworks captured the students’ interest. They diligently recorded their observations as assigned by their instructor. Pasar Triwindu as the final destination, provided students with the opportunity to explore antiques and unique architectural designs, both of which are classified as Karya Seni Terapan

The series of activities concluded with students returning to school via BST public transportation. For many, this marked their first experience using BST. These activities are not only enhanced students’ understanding of Karya Seni Terapan, but also fostered their social skills in unfamiliar settings. Additionally, students were trained to identify critical data that would support the compilation of the final product for the Learning Project lesson. ***
