Secondary 2 – English: Being a News Anchor

Secondary 2 students showed great enthusiasm while exploring the exciting world of news anchoring. During the lesson, they learned the role of a news anchor and the process involved in producing a news broadcast.

After gaining an understanding of how news programs are prepared and delivered, the students had the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice. They worked with scripts that they had prepared earlier and used a teleprompter application to help them read their news smoothly and professionally.

As part of the activity, the students were asked to record themselves presenting the news as a news anchor. They were also responsible for editing their own videos, which allowed them to experience a part of the news production process.

Most students completed the task successfully, producing creative and engaging news anchor videos. Through this activity, students were able to improve their speaking skills while also developing their creativity and confidence. The project provided a fun and practical learning experience for everyone involved.
