Secondary 1 – Visual Arts: My First Art Collection
Secondary 1 students learn about making personal creation under the theme ‘My First Art Collection’. In this session, students discussed their memorable arts creation, like drawing, painting, 3D creation, etc. They also had reflection about what kinds of art skills that they have and how they manage them ages by ages.
This project provides freedom for students to choose one of their favourite artwork, including the skill they have, mixed-media to do creation and also the colouring tools. The activities started from identifying their art abilities, then they planned on the creation that they will make, doing sketching in paper and the making process for sure. Later on, the final product will be displayed along with their complete learning process, like sketch and reflection note.
This learning activities became part of the students’ reflection on how they see themselves as artists. The varieties of skills shown and the final products were set to form diversity in arts between them. Start with their pure ideas, ends with the visualisation product shows that the students use their experiences and creativity to express their feeling through the artworks.
