Secondary 1 – OLP: Exploring Gondosuli agriculture fields
Secondary 1 students went to Gondosuli for an outdoor learning program on 5 December 2023. Gondosuli fields was chosen as one of the places for providing the learning experience. The students had observation and interview with farmers. They walked through the fields and approached several farmers for the interview. The food production, the planting and harvesting time of vegetables were topics for collecting data. The students took turn when conducting the interview. Several students even looked for farmers in the upper fields. On their way up the areas, they also met several villagers and were able to greet them politely. Some students did not hesitate to help farmers picked onions, so they got vegetables in large quantities from these farmers.
They gained valuable experience by directly interacting with the fields and learning from the experiences of farmers around the Gondosuli vegetable fields.
This outdoor activity directs students to be independent, more communicative, and to think critically in the learning process. Overall, the OLP was fun, and the students looked forward to having their next outing activities. ***
