Secondary 1 – Learning Project: Understanding Their Neighbourhoods
Secondary 2 students engaged in an observational study of the Gremet area, which encompasses the surroundings of Focus Independent School. This initiative was undertaken to enhance their understanding of the public facilities available in proximity to the school.
The primary objective of this activity is to familiarize students with various public amenities, including government offices and healthcare facilities. By doing so, Secondary 2 students are able to discern the specific functions of these establishments, enabling them to locate the necessary services when required.
Throughout this process, students acquire prior knowledge about their immediate environment. This activity fosters their abilities to adapt, explore, and document information, while also cultivating an awareness that empowers them to identify and address their own needs effectively. ***
